Sand Storm
Hey all, sorry I have not written anything in a while we have been pretty busy. As always the days just seem to run together and you just try and keep your mind away from thoughts of home. The insurgents still hit us every once in awhile but they are never very effective, our batallion 1-89 Cav located at COS Cashe South got hit by 10 mortar rounds on new years day but luckily for them the insurgents were bad shots and no one was hurt. Yesterday we got hit by a pretty good sandstorm that lasted about 24hours (pictures below) I am still coughing up sand. well anyway hi to all and I will try and write more as time goes on…..

"Old Friend"
I saw this M109 Artillery Howitzer today and had to take a picture. When I was here way back in 1991, these were the guns that my old unit the 3/20th F.A. used against the Iraqi Tanks.. quite effectively I may say from personal experience. It was kind of strange for me to see her today once again in Iraq almost twenty years later, oddly enough it was like running into an old friend….

Here without you, Made this for you Carolyn.
