Muddy boot

Well it looks like the rainy season has arrived. For the past two days now it has done nothing but rain. Now do not get me wrong , the rain cools things down but the sand turns into goopy, sticky mud that gets all over everything. By the time you walk 10 feet your boots weigh an extra 20lbs.


Other then the rain everything here is good, we just take it day by day. The 82nd guys are gone now so we are in complete operational control of our area and so far it has been fairly quiet. The insurgents still plant the occasional IED but they have not really tested us yet so lets hope it stays that way. The weather has made keeping or communication network 100% somewhat difficult and tensions get a little high when comms drop during an operation so we are constantly looking for ways to improve the network. As always I miss my family and look forward to the day I walk through my front door and see all their smiling faces….
